New Delhi festival to screen Iranian ‘That Night’s Train’

Iranian movie ‘That Night’s Train’ is to compete at the 4th New Delhi Film Festival in India.

Iranian movie ‘That Night’s Train’ has been scheduled to compete at the 4th edition of the New Delhi Film Festival (NDFF) in India.

Directed by Hamid-Reza Qotbi, the 85-minute movie tells the story of a little girl who meets a female writer on a train.

The writer promises to call and visit her later. The promise, in the writer’s mind, is just a theme for her new story, but so serious for the little kid.

To overcome the sadness the kid endures, her father who is an author himself comes to rescue.

The events that follow make the border between reality and fantasy blurry and obscure.

Afshin Hashemi, Siamak Safari, Behnaz Naderi, Maryam Boubani, and Bahram Shakeri star in the film.

The film has so far participated in a number of global events, including the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece, the Schlingel International Film Festival in Germany, the Cinekid Festival in the Netherlands, the Asian Film Festival Barcelona in Spain, and the Chennai International Film Festival in India.

‘That Night’s Train’ was crowned best at the 49th Roshd International Film Festival in Iran in November 2019.

The opening ceremony of the 4th NDFF has been cancelled due to the coronavirus situation in India.

The closing ceremony of the gala will go online and announce the winners on March 28, 2021.
